Shadows over Amsterdam.

I was on my way back from Muiden when I picked up a newsitem about a huge fire in Northern Amsterdam. So I went, but the action was just about over by the time I got there. All that remained was a huge cloud of smoke, as seen here from behind the central station. A furniture-store, an office of the postal service, a kitchen-store and an car-and-bycycle supply store went up in flames. Oh, well.

I like the picture, it has all the elements in it. Water, Earth, Air and Metal (using the Chinese elements).
Too bad you couldn’t make it to the fire itself, according to the news it was the biggest fire in about 10 years (in this region, not counting the Enschedé disaster).
Love it. Looks like a big storm cloud.
A mix of beauty and ominous portent.
