Bommen Berend - Step 1: Have a horseshow.
Where: Stadspark, Groningen, the Netherlands.
What: Every year, on the 28th of August (on the 17th of August in 1672-1700 due to the Julian calender), the city of Groningen celebrates breaking the seige of Bernhard von Galen, the prince-bishop of Münster. So how to celebrate this? The first step in organising ‘Bommen Berend’, as the day (after the nickname for Bernhard von Galen) is called, is having a horseshow.
