Palm.

Where: Barcelona, Spain.
What: The best way to realize you’re really in a different place is not when you’re standing on top of one of the major landmarks, it’s when the details, like the vegetation and birds, are different. Like a city were palm-trees grow naturally.

Gaudi.

Where: Barcelona, Spain.
What: It’s not easy to visit Barcelona and not see anything created by Gaudi. So much so, that his works have been named UNESCO World Heritage sites. Another major landmark, besides la Sagrada Familia, is the Park Güell. The Park Güell was intended as a garden-city, but never really took off as such and was bought by the city of Barcelona in 1922. Pictured is the path of the washerwoman (bugadera), a viaduct made to resemble a wave of rocks, resting on stone palm trees.
